In honor of Memorial Day I wanted to share some things that you can do to support the military families while their loved one is away at war or support the families after their loved one has given the ultimate sacrifice.

Operation Shower
This non-profit organization helps host baby showers for military mom-to-bes by receiving monetary donations and/or hosting donation drives as a way to support our military families. If you would like to find out more information on Operation Shower and how to donate please check out their website at http://www.operationshower.org/.

Operation Hug A Hero
This non-profit organization helps create dolls from pictures of their mother, father or loved one in the miltary as a way to help ease the separation and bring comfort for their sadness. The dolls are created by using a head-to-toe picture of their loved one along with a personalized message. To find out more about Operation Hug A Hero and how you can help check out their website at http://www.operationhugahero.org/.

American Widow Project
This non-profit organization offers support by hosting retreats where widows and widowers can share their stories and pain about losing their loved ones. To find out how you can support the AWP so a widow or widower can attend a retreat, please check out their website at http://www.americanwidowproject.org/.

I read about these organization in Redbook May edition and you can see the full article online as well.
